Perhaps the term "Rural South Dakota" is redundant? So much of South Dakota looks like this. I was on a roadtrip driving through South Dakota to Badlands National Park. I had no plans to stop and take photos along the way but I kept my eye on the sunset. The way the clouds were forming I knew there would be a beautiful sunset this evening. But I was on the road and I wasn't going to make it to the Badlands until well after dark. This abandoned farm or ranch; I know don't which it is, flashed past my window on the side of I-90. I flipped around at the next exit, pulled out into the field and got some photos just before the sun disappeared.
