Maui Twin Falls isn't the most glamorous waterfall, or the tallest, or the most beautiful. It is easily accessible and a favorite swimming hole for those who live on the north coast of Maui; or so I was told. For that reason it was a perfect stop when I had a day to kill in Maui. The trees on the cliff above grow through the overhang and the roots are visible below. I think those are ferns growing off of the cliff? Anyway, it's one of those magical places you expect to see in a movie but not in real life. I arrived just as the clouds did and a dozen people who had been enjoying their afternoon sun left so I had the place to myself for about an hour.
