This scene in the hills of Pillaro Ecuador is only a short drive up into the mountains outside of the city. I was looking for a spot to get a panoramic photo of the city. The top of the mountain was covered in fog so going higher up the mountain didn't make sense. I didn't know what was down this little path beside the road but I was hoping for a clearing in the trees where I could look back on the city for that panoramic shot I was after. Instead I found this ranch where one lone rancher maintained his home and land on the mountainside. Only a couple of years a go I wouldn't have even seen this photo. I would have walked right past this scene intent on getting my panoramic city photo. I never did get a photo of the city on this day anyway but I'm glad to have wandered down this random path on the mountainside.
